Fix error in Origin “msvcp140”

We have just released Windows, the PC is running like new, but we have a problem when trying to install Origin. It gives us the 0xc000007b error or asks us for the msvcp140 or vcruntime140 files. Well, the solution is easier than it seems, we just have to install the Microsoft visual c++ 2015 package.

You can download them from this link to Microsoft or download them ready for installation from here:

You will need to install both the 64-bit and 32-bit (x86) versions. Then try to open Origin setup again and it should run without a problem. This way you won’t have to search for system32 folders and the like to copy and paste single files.

I hope you find it helpful. You can check the downloaded files with VirusTotal to make sure they are trustworthy before installing.

Solution tested on Windows 10 Home
