After 28 years in the business, Rick Harrison “The Spotter” is an expert when it comes to spotting something fake or stolen. When it comes to big-ticket items, Rick is the man for the job.
Detecting a fake Cartier watch that most people would buy by mistake is one of his many skills. Often acting as the middle man between his father and son, Rick is the glue that holds this family and business together.
Trained in the business since the age of 13, dropping out of high school to pursue his business. Until partnering with his father at the age of 23, he never looked back.
Corey Harrison “Big Hoss” started working at the pawn store at the age of 9. Expertly trained in the art of appraisal, Corey has the brains to spot a trap, and he handles everything when it comes to hiring and firing employees and managing eBay customers.
Although Corey thinks Rick treats him like a slave, Rick believes Corey still needs to prove himself and earn his fortune.
Austin Russell “Chumlee” Corey’s childhood friend, is like a son to Rick and has been around the store since he was a kid.
Everyone loves Chum, but he is often the butt of jokes. Part of the reason he’s not taken seriously is that he constantly begs Corey to buy items that will entertain him such as video games and circus paraphernalia that generally don’t make good business sense.
And while his heart of gold makes him a pro at customer service, it is continually proven to be bad business for the store. Chumlee always wants to give his customers the best deal.
Where did Chumlee get his nickname?
The elementary school friends took their name from the cartoon friend Tennessee Tuxedo’s sidekick, a walrus named Chumley.
Richard Benjamin Harrison “the old man”
After serving in the US Navy and losing a million dollars in the real estate market, “Old Richard” Harrison uprooted his family and moved to Las Vegas in search of a new beginning.
Opening Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1988, he had to learn the market quickly. From vintage cars to luxury watches. It is capable of evaluating any object with great precision.
Richard is the king of purchasing underpriced merchandise, even from stock pawn shops, which has helped turn his initial $10,000 investment into a multimillion-dollar business. Disciplined, wise and astute, Richard runs a tough business and is anything but easy to please.
Sadly, on June 25, 2018, Richard Benjamin Harrison passed away after his battle with Parkinson’s.

Olivia Black and her controversial images
She participated in the fifth season as a night shift employee. He was an attraction for the show because of his physique. Olivia was fired a few months after discovering the videos and photos of her in intimate situations that were circulating online.

“My father was in the army, which meant he was out of the country quite a bit, my mother working.
Being a middle-class family in the 1970s meant we only had one television… and it wasn’t in the room… so when I was 8 I started to develop a passion for reading history, and it never stopped.”
This thirst for knowledge evolved into entrepreneurship.

When times got tough, you had to put people out and work two or even three shifts, sometimes spending 24 hours in the store. When you are the boss you have no one to turn to.

Where do you invest the profits from your business?
“I have an advisor who is in charge of some investments, but I also control my own investments.”
His personal asset allocation includes 10% gold and silver (which he calls an insurance policy) and 80% in blue chip companies, leaving 10% to have “a little crazy fun.”
